Can fuel line be used as oil line?
Fuel line is a petroleum-resistant nitrile tube with a covering that resists weathering, ozone and heat and can be used for ethanol-laced fuels and diesel fuel. It should, however, not be used on coolant systems, oil systems or fuel -injection systems that produce pressures higher than 50 psi.
Can you use rubber hose oil cooler?
You can use rubber hose, but make sure it’s transmission cooler line rated. The pressure is quite low (12-15 psi). Double clamp it or use FI type clamps instead of the worm-drive style. Yes it HAS to be designed for hydraulic fluid.
How much HP does fuel line support?
A 3/8”id fuel line can easily support 600 HP given sufficient “pump head”! Given a big enough pump a 3/8” steel line could support 1000 HP. The simple way to know is to install an electronic fuel pressure gauge. If the pressure falls as the engine RPM’s go up you need more pump head.
Can you use transmission cooler line for fuel line?
Even if the hose is hot oil rated it still might not be recommended for fuels. The hoses inner most tube must have the rating for fuels for maximum use.
Can you use fuel line power steering?
If so i’d say no becuase they’ll need to be connected properly and be able to withstand descent pressure. If you’ve removed your PS then you shoould be fine with fuel hose and hose clamps.
Do I need an oil restrictor for my turbo?
Journal Bearing Turbo An oil restrictor is generally not needed except for oil-pressure-induced leakage. The recommended oil feed for journal bearing turbochargers is -4AN or hose/tubing with an ID of approximately 0.25”. Be sure to use an oil filter that meets or exceeds the OEM specifications.
Do turbos leak oil?
Oil leaks can cause catastrophic damage to the bearing systems and occur within seconds of the turbocharger commencing operation. When a turbocharger is installed correctly, it should NOT leak oil, however, there can be cases where oil leaks occur.
What can I use for transmission cooler lines?
Rubber transmission lines are readily available and are the cheapest option for transmission cooler lines. More often than not, your vehicle will have some rubber lines from the factory, but not nearly as much as it would metal.
Can you splice transmission cooler lines?
Yep you should be OK, just make sure the clamps are tight and the hose isn’t kinked. FWIW I’m using about 1-2 feet on each of my cooler lines near the transmission linking them to the original metal AOD cooler lines, then have the metal lines linked again with rubber hose at the cooler from the radiator.
Can you use hydraulic hose for transmission lines?
You’ ll be fine. I once heard that hydraulic systems absolutely have to run cool because the fluid will turn acid if it overheats (similar to a PS system), and that the lines are not made for high heat.
How much horsepower can a 6AN fuel line support?
“A rule of thumb; 5/16″ (-5AN) will support up to 300 horsepower, 3/8″ (-6AN) will cover up to 500 HP, and 1/2″ (-8AN) is good to 700HP.” I would assume this is with lower fuel pressures than what these motors useso I would bet on a bit more.
How much HP can 6AN support?
at 45 psi for engines producing up to 870 hp naturally aspirated, or 725 hp forced induction. Its rated at 70gph free flow and a max psi of 65psi.
How much HP does 8AN fuel line support?
An -8 can handle way more than 600 hp.
